A free camera at the age of 10 became an obsession. Back when black & white was the only medium and the prints were small and square, you could find me at the local pharmacy picking up prints.
By the age of 15 I was ready for the opportunity that arose while on holidays, travelling through Asia. My Dad let me borrow his Minolta SLR, showed me some very basic principles & I was off & running, it was this holiday that started my love of photography.
On return to school, I pursued photography and was encouraged by a wonderful teacher who loved fostering keen young art students. We would unload our b&w film into canisters then develop and peg it out to dry, the next day we could use the school darkroom at lunchtime, print our prints, stick them on the wall to drip & run late for the following class!
Steadily, progress took place, from taking basic beautiful snaps to learning professional techniques in B&W develop & print. In my early 20's I worked in a lab, processing and retouching B&W enlargements by hand at a studio in Brisbane.
Raising a family introduced new focus, I continued to explore photography through my children & holidays to remote islands of the Barrier Reef.
Now I live on the beautiful Gold Coast. I am dedicated to producing the best quality images possible, only printed on fine art papers, my prints will last for generations when framed and stored correctly.
I love the solitude and light challenges in Landscape photography and love to capture nature at those fleeting moments in time when the light is breathtaking.
Only producing prints of 150 from the Limited Edition catalogue.
All of my images will come complete with a Certificate of Authenticity and a detailed story description of how the image came to be.
